One of the world’s toughest alternative energy vehicle races kicked off in South Africa last month.
Starting in Pretoria on 23 September, the South African Solar Challenge 2010 was an epic 10-day race between solar-powered cars travelling more than 4,000km across the length and breadth of the country. The event finished in Pretoria on 2 October. Read more

Networking can be FUN
The 24 June 2010 will go down in history as one of the best networking evenings in the history of the Chamber. There was a record attendance by over 200 Chamber members at the Osner Hotel. Jackie Lategan of Value Logistics was one of the lucky business card drws to do a three minute presentation. In a show of total innovation she chose to sing about her company and of course the Springbok Rugby management and coaching team came along and brought Percy Montgomery and Os Du Rant. Both peter De Villiers, the Springbok Coach and the back line coach, Dick Muir expressed their delight at the wonderful way East Londoners had treated them and said they had thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
